Baked Pears
Just take a moment to really think about this dessert.
Envision the flavors, that first bite in your mouth.
And then? Go make it. Like why are you still wasting your time still reading this????
I kid, I kid. But in all seriousness, these baked pears have been rocking our world.
But keep this one important tip in mind: your pears need to be ripe. So buy a few or maybe 12 (in case you’ll find yourself wanting to make this dessert every night) and let it sit on your counter for a couple of days. Unripe pears will not soften when baked and it will be difficult to put a spoon through it. Trust me, I have tried to make these with hard pears and even after a full hour of baking and extra liquid, they still remained hard.
You want the fruit, after baking, to be warm, soft, and melt in your mouth delicious.
And topping it with homemade granola (trust me, make it yourself, it’s so much better) after baking adds that chewy and crunchy texture. But we don’t stop there. You also add a dollop of vanilla ice cream and start feeling like you’re at some bougie restaurant. Yes, believe me. Because I ain’t lying.
