Unit Study Workbook for Any Country
One of the ways we have been learning History, Geography, Literature, Art & Writing is by studying the world, one country at a time. This specific unit study has been the backbone of our schooling for many years. It has allowed my kids to really learn something and I love it when real learning happens. I’m all about it! It’s why I launched my own company, Real Learning, so families can have access to easy-to-follow lessons that are practical, interesting and seamlessly involve all core subjects.
When I wanted to make homeschooling more engaging and less reliant on dry textbooks, I realized that diving into country studies would be the perfect solution. That idea blossomed into All About the World, a comprehensive unit study workbook that takes children on a step-by-step journey to explore a country of their choice. With over 200 pages of thoughtfully structured content, a lot of real learning takes place and it amazes me every time.
The process is simple: follow the workbook page by page. The worksheets guide your child through book recommendations, research prompts, poetry writing, map design, art projects, essay writing, and even cooking authentic recipes. It’s a hands-on, immersive way to bring learning to life!
It starts with worksheets that have your child do research about the flag, the landscape and the climate. Then they dive a little deeper to researching the landmarks and cities which then leads to learning all about the traditions, religion, social structures and so much more.
My girls love the ending of this workbook because they turn all that research into an impressive poster board for Presentation Day. On this day we cook an entire dinner meal together from the recipes they choose. We enjoy the meal with candles and music. Then they do their beautiful presentation by sharing all the fun facts, reading their poems, and sharing their artwork.
And the best part about this unit study is how it allows the whole family to participate, ranging from elementary to high school. We read all the books together, watch the videos together, create art together, bake and cook together, etc.
If you’re looking to enrich your homeschooling with more real learning and make some pretty cool memories as a family, this resource is for you.
This approach truly does not exist elsewhere. These worksheets provide a clear, organized framework for studying a country in a way that is fun, dynamic and deeply rewarding.
